Originally from Lubeck, Germany, Joachim (John) and Gudrun (Gudie) Retzlaff now reside in Bath County, Virginia. John and Gudie share a wonderful family with son, Thomas, and daughter, Susi. The Retzlaffs enjoy world travel, tennis, and sharing their love for cooking with John's Steakhouse. John Retzlaff opened the Water Wheel Resturant at the Grist Mill Square in 1972. About 6 years ago, the Retzlaffs unveiled John's Steakhouse. The intimate atmosphere of John's Steakhouse keeps guests coming back for an unforgettable experience.
